MUNICH. Together with colleagues from the Fraunhofer Center for Energy Storage and Systems (IST and IKTS), our team successfully applied for funding under the Fraunhofer AHEAD program.
The goal of our joint project is to modify an existing Fraunhofer test bench in a way that battery testing and analysis procedures can be combined and carried out simultaneously. In doing so, we aim to open up new possibilities for the investigation of battery cells, accelerate root cause analyses, and shorten our customers’ time to market.
AHEAD is the Fraunhofer Society’s technology transfer program. It helps teams turn scientific developments into viable business models and bring technologies to market. In addition to financial support, the program offers workshops, personalized coaching, and access to a network of experts and experienced entrepreneurs.

As part of an intensive workshop, we refined our business idea, developed a project plan, and successfully presented it to a panel of experts. We will use the AHEAD grant to conduct a detailed market analysis, create a development plan for the test bench, and further refine our business plan over the next six months.
For BatteryQuest, this project brings together two key areas of our service portfolio: battery testing and analytics. Together with our project partners, we aim to tailor this approach specifically to the needs of future users.
We look forward to working together and to sharing our first insights into the development soon!
